Part of WOW – Women of the World

From Beijing to Brisbane, look past the headlines to hear stories of progress and struggle from women across the world.

Over the past ten years, WOW – Women of the World has become a global movement, reaching more than two million people at festivals and events on six continents.

This session is devoted to celebrating WOW around the globe.

The panel features Zahra Hankir, Rahima Mahmut, Eliana Sousa Silva, Anjana Luitel and more to be announced. Chaired by WOW Australia executive producer Cathy Hunt.

Zahra Hankir is a Lebanese British journalist and editor of Our Women on the Ground.

Rahima Mahmut is an Uyghur singer, human rights activist, and award-winning translator.

Eliana Sousa Silva is an academic, activist and WOW – Women of the World Rio curator.

Anjana Luitel is Gender and Social Inclusion advisor at Nepal’s WOW – Women of the World and an activist.

Day passes are available for Friday and Saturday. Each day features a different line-up, so you can buy passes for both or attend just one.

This event is part of WOW Friday Pass, which gives you access to a packed programme of talks, workshops and more across Southbank Centre all day.

Southbank Centre takes a strong view on secondary ticketing. We require the lead booker to attend (photo ID may be requested). Tickets can only be resold by Southbank Centre or one of its authorised agents.

There are roving British Sign Language (BSL) interpreters available on the day. Please ask at the Access Desk, next to the Ticket Office, Level 2, Royal Festival Hall, for more information.
