Classical Season 2018/19

September 2018 – July 2019

Welcome to the 2018/19 Classical Season at Southbank Centre.

This season’s highlights include the first UK performances of Stockhausen’s monumental opera Donnerstag aus Licht since 1985; recitals from Maurizio Pollini, Angela Hewitt and more outstanding pianists; a whole weekend dedicated to the music of Stockhausen, curated by Southbank Centre Artist in Residence Pierre-Laurent Aimard; the European premiere of a new work from Philip Glass in tribute to the chameleon genius of pop mastermind David Bowie; as well as exceptional concerts from our Resident and Associate Orchestras.
