September 2018 – July 2019

Welcome to the 2018/19 Classical Season at Southbank Centre.

This season’s highlights include: the first performances of Stockhausen’s Donnerstag aus Licht in the UK since 1985; Mitsuko Uchida performing two Mozart piano concertos with the Mahler Chamber Orchestra; recitals from Leonidas Kavakos and Yuja Wang, Maurizio Pollini, and Pierre-Laurent Aimard; a festival of new music by international composers featuring London Sinfonietta, Ensemble Modern, Aurora Orchestra and Claire Chase; as well as the European premiere of a new work from Philip Glass, in tribute to the chameleon genius of pop mastermind David Bowie.
