International Chamber Music Series

The International Chamber Music Series brings together the most exciting musical collaborations the world over. Featuring rising soloists and seasoned artists, new compositions and well-loved pieces, our upcoming season of concerts brings you phenomenal, intimate performances.

In our 2019/20 season, BBC Young Musician of the Year-winning cellists Sheku Kanneh-Mason and Guy Johnston join forces in a programme of cello sonatas by Boccherini interspersed with works by composers including Jean-Baptiste Barrière, Reinhold Glière, and a new commission for two cellos by young British composer Emma-Ruth Richards.

Violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter gives life to two of Beethoven’s chamber masterpieces alongside a new commission by Jörg Widmann. The 2020/21 season includes two concerts from the Barenboim Piano Trio performing Beethoven’s masterpieces, and Harriet, a new chamber opera by Hilda Paredes inspired by the American abolitionist and political activist Harriet Tubman. 

In addition, see stellar performances by Associate Artists Pierre-Laurent Aimard, Patricia Kopatchinskaja and Colin Currie, as well as many other returning artists and new faces.
