London Sinfonietta

Resident at Southbank Centre, the London Sinfonietta is one of the world’s finest contemporary music ensembles with a reputation built on its cutting-edge programming and virtuosic performances. Founded in 1968, the ensemble’s commitment to new music has seen it commission over 400 works, and premiere hundreds more.

Highlights in 2018 and beyond include world premieres from Charlotte Bray, Philip Venables, Colin Matthews and James Dillon, a collaboration with electronic artist Tom Jenkinson (aka Squarepusher), a new partnership with Music Theatre Wales and National Dance Company Wales for Pascal Dusapin’s extraordinary Passion, and an all-Steve Reich concert featuring his absorbing Music for 18 Musicians.
