Voicelab is Southbank Centre’s vocal initiative, inviting everyone to explore their voice and participate in festivals, workshops and performances throughout the year.

It gives you the chance to discover the power of your voice through singing, encouraging you to express yourself whatever your age, ability or experience. It’s an opportunity to join together with hundreds of people in song and discover what it means to be a singer.

Voicelab has engaged with thousands of singers both nationally and internationally and continues to grow every year, sharing a vision to empower, unite and inspire everyone through singing.

Join a Voicelab Project Choir

Throughout the year, Voicelab offers people of all ages and abilities opportunities to join project choirs for one-off shows, as part of our festivals. To be part of a project choir, participants need to fill in an application form and agree to be available for all rehearsal sessions for that specific project.

Join the Beyond Beethoven 9 Voicelab Choir

To mark 250 years since Beethoven’s birth in 2020, Voicelab is looking for confident singers to be part of two very special performances of Beyond Beethoven 9 in Royal Festival Hall.

Voicelab are seeking confident singers over the age of 18 with choral experience of singing in parts to join this choir. Reading music is not a requirement but you must have a willingness to work hard, be committed to the project and have bags of enthusiasm. We are particularly looking for singers who are confident singing very high for sustained periods, as well as other voice parts.
