Aaron Sorkin in Conversation
Expect well-chosen words from the Academy Award-winning screenwriter, joining us for an in-depth broadcast conversation.
Aaron Sorkin made his feature film debut with his 1992 adaptation of his own play A Few Good Men.
He followed this success with The Social Network, for which he won the Academy Award for best adapted screenplay, Moneyball, and Steve Jobs which garnered him a Golden Globe Award for best screenplay.
For television, Sorkin created and produced The West Wing, which has won a total of 26 Primetime Emmy Awards, as well as producing and writing the television series Sports Night and The Newsroom.
Most recently Sorkin wrote and directed the Bafta and Academy Award-nominated film, The Trial of the Chicago 7, which is available to watch on Netflix.
The film tells the story of what was intended to be a peaceful protest at the 1968 Democratic National Convention, which turned into a violent clash with police and the National Guard.
The organisers of the protest – including Abbie Hoffman, Jerry Rubin, Tom Hayden and Bobby Seale – were charged with conspiracy to incite a riot and the trial that followed was one of the most notorious in history.
