European Poetry Festival: Latvia

Hear new work by contemporary European poets and their Britain-based counterparts in the UK’s biggest celebration of continental poetry, hosted by SJ Fowler.

Hear new work by contemporary European poets and their Britain-based counterparts in the UK’s biggest celebration of continental poetry, hosted by SJ Fowler.

The European Poetry Festival returns to the National Poetry Library for its ninth year, celebrating experimentation and collaboration, and exploring the performative, literary and cross-lingual potential of 21st century European poetry.

For this edition, we celebrate contemporary Latvian poetry, as four of Latvia’s most exciting poets come to the UK to share new works, each made specially for this evening and in collaboration with a British poet. Featuring Māra Ulme and Jonathan Boyd, Krišjānis Zeļģis and SJ Fowler, Agnese Graudiņa and Alex Murphy, Alise Bogdanova and Sophia Rahim.

Supported by Latvian Literature.
