Name a seat
Celebrate your Southbank Centre story
The most important moments in our auditoriums don’t always happen on stage.
Here’s the place you finally found home among the cold and grey of a new city. Where you went on that first date, and then returned for the 331st one. It’s the space where you finally understood why mum was so passionate about the cello ‘played properly’, and the spot where you convinced others that there’s beauty in brutalism.
Celebrate your special memories, or remember a loved one, by naming a seat in any of our halls. And in doing so, you’ll give vital support to the Southbank Centre – helping millions more stories unfold.

Choose your seat
You can name a seat in any of our three auditoriums.

Queen Elizabeth Hall

Purcell Room

Key things to know when you name a seat
- In the Royal Festival Hall, there is a character limit of 50, including spaces.
- In the Queen Elizabeth Hall and Purcell Room, there is a character limit of 115, including spaces.
- Plaques are in place for ten years – we’ll then ask if you’d like to renew via email.
- Naming a seat is a charitable donation. It does not include admission to individual performances or events, and it does not guarantee allocation of that seat when booking tickets.
- We hold a number of open mornings each year with the chance to visit your seat while the auditorium is closed to the public. We will be in touch throughout the year, via email, to notify you of dates.
Every seat tells a story
‘When I lost my partner of 54 years I could think of no better way of commemorating our many visits to Queen Elizabeth Hall than to name two seats in our two favourite rows. It is a great consolation to me that I, and others, will sit in seats dedicated to him, in memory of wonderful performances we both enjoyed.’
– Nicholas, Southbank Centre supporter
‘Dad has enjoyed watching many artists perform here over the years, and talks about it all the time with such fondness. I thought naming a seat for him and my mum was a great way to help keep Southbank Centre around for years to come, and I know my Dad feels the same.’
– Charlotte, Southbank Centre supporter
