Queen Elizabeth Hall Roof Garden

Welcome to London’s very own secret garden

Nestled on top of the Queen Elizabeth Hall, the Roof Garden is a haven, home to over 200 wild native plants, a luscious lawn, views across London and the Roof Garden Bar & Kitchen.

Since it opened in 2011, this peaceful space has become a much-loved feature of the Southbank Centre, especially on sunny days.

The garden, originally a partnership with the Eden Project, was built and continues to be maintained by a team of incredible volunteers alongside our head gardener, Paul Pulford, founder of Grounded Ecotherapy, a pioneering recovery programme.

It’s the ideal spot to lose yourself in a great book, or to work remotely surrounded by nature.

Access

For step-free access to the roof garden, go to the Welcome Desk on Level 2 of the Royal Festival Hall where our staff can assist you.

Assistance dogs are the only dogs permitted in the roof garden.
