The Royal Festival Hall is closed on Thursday 3 September, re-opening at 5pm to ticket holders only for Letters Live at 7.30pm. The National Poetry Library remains open with entry via the Royal Festival Hall Artists’ Entrance.

Adam Curtis is a documentary film-maker and journalist. He works for BBC television in London. He makes political/historical documentaries that attempt to use the past to explain the present. They include HyperNormalisation, Bitter Lake, The Century of the Self, The Power of Nightmares and All Watched Over by Machines of Loving Grace. Curtis has also worked on live shows with the immersive theatre group Punchdrunk and the band Massive Attack. His films have been shown at the Cannes film festival and have won many awards, including six BAFTAs.
