Aoife Dunne: Dreamsphere, 2022

Exploring dynamic interplay between physical and virtual space, Aoife Dunne creates vibrant, colourful and immersive artworks inspired by digital culture, surrealism and the human experience.

Striving to construct surreal and playful environments that challenge viewers’ perception of reality, Dunne blurs the boundaries between the physical and virtual worlds.

This iteration of DREAMSPHERE, consisting of a large-scale projection, is one part of a multi-sensorial, site-specific installation, originally commissioned by the Irish Museum of Modern Art.

The visuals, unfolding at a frenetic pace, take viewers on a surreal journey through the tumultuous mind, teasing the future potential of consciousness-sharing while using technology to evoke and expand the boundaries of our collective psyche.
