Baroness Beeban Kidron

Baroness Beeban Kidron is an award-winning former film director and crossbench peer in the UK’s House of Lords. A leading global authority on digital regulation and children’s rights, she served until 2024 as an expert consultant to the UN Secretary-General’s High-Level Advisory Board on Artificial Intelligence and advises Oxford’s Institute for Ethics in AI. Additionally, she founded the 5Rights Foundation, chairs the Digital Futures for Children research centre at the London School of Economics, and was awarded an OBE in 2012 for services to drama. Her June 2026 book, Users, reflects on her pioneering work in digital rights and sets out her vision for a brighter technological future.
