Bex Wade
Bex Wade is a trans non-binary artist, photographer and writer whose work has documented queer lives for over two decades. Wade’s images of queer nightlife in the UK and New York preserve a world before social media transformed the dance floor and being photographed became part of the performance. Beyond nightlife, their practice has evolved to explore queer lives through themes of power, belonging and collective resistance. In 2023, the Victoria and Albert Museum acquired multiple works by Wade, making them the first trans artist to have work permanently displayed by the V&A, in the Design Gallery section of the Young V&A.
