Ezra Collective
Few bands in British music carry the weight of community and craft quite like Ezra Collective. Formed in the youth clubs of London, the five-piece – Femi Koleoso (drums), TJ Koleoso (bass), Joe Armon-Jones (keys), James Mollison (saxophone) and Ife Ogunjobi (trumpet) – have spent over a decade documenting their shared lives in sound.
Rooted in jazz but never confined by it, their 2022 album, Where I’m Meant To Be, won the Mercury Prize. While 2024’s Dance, No One’s Watching took them to Wembley Arena and a BRIT Award for Group of the Year in 2025. Their forthcoming album, Here Because Of Hope, explores hope and pain, tracing the movement of Black people across continents and decades, from West Africa to the Caribbean to the UK.
