Kayla Marie Troy

Kayla Marie Troy is a poet from east London. Her lyrical work navigates themes of ancestry, family and loss — experimenting with historical and colonial allegories to enhance her storytelling. Her poem ‘what I hear when sisters compare upbringings’ was awarded the Out-Spoken Prize for Poetry 2023 and features in ‘Propel: An Anthology of New Poetry’. 

Kayla is also a Youth Practitioner working with young people in Newham to support them in their creative careers.
