Kwame Dawes

Kwame Dawes is a multi-award-winning poet, current Poet Laureate of Jamaica and the author of numerous works of poetry, fiction, criticism and essays (most recently, Sturge Town). Dawes is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature, Professor of Literary Arts at Brown University, the series editor of the African Poetry Book Series and director of the African Poetry Book Fund. He has been awarded an Order of Distinction Commander class by the Government of Jamaica.
