Mangrove Steelband

The Mangrove Steelband are one of the largest steel bands in Britain and are the current National Panorama Steel Band Competition champions. Formed in 1980 from a traditional ‘pan-round-the-neck’ group, they’ve since established themselves as a fully-fledged modern orchestra. The 11-time winners of the Panorama competition were born from the vision and determination of Trinidadians living in the Notting Hill area, in a quest to introduce the culture of steel band and Carnival to young people in their community and hand down Caribbean art forms to the next generation.
