Playlist: 30 years of the London Jazz Festival
In 2022 London’s biggest pan-city music festival celebrated its 30th year
Established by Serious in 1992, and launched for the first time at Union Chapel on 14 May 1993, the London Jazz Festival has become a staple fixture not only on the city’s jazz calendar, but the world’s too.
For three decades the cream of the world’s jazz talent has descended on our capital, producing celebrated concerts and memorable moments. And since 1994 the Southbank Centre has been a crucial part of the London Jazz Festival’s fabric, hosting not only headliners in our main auditoria, but also up and coming acts on free stages and smaller spaces.
As we get set to welcome yet more up and coming, and established, jazz talent to our auditoria again this November, get yourself firmly in the mood with this playlist featuring just some of the artists to have graced the festival’s first three decades.
