Website accessibility policy
This accessibility statement applies to southbankcentre.co.uk and secure.southbankcentre.co.uk.
This website is run by Southbank Centre. We welcome everyone to the Southbank Centre and want our buildings, spaces, and websites to be available to all.
That means you should be able to:
- change colours, contrast levels and fonts using browser or device settings
- zoom in up to 400% without the text spilling off the screen
- navigate most of the website using a keyboard or speech recognition software
- listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)
We’ve also made the website text as simple as possible to understand.

How accessible this website is
During the design and development of this website, we consulted with accessibility specialists at each stage of the process.
We have also conducted an inclusive usability study involving members from our access group. Participants who took part had a diverse range of access needs. We invited feedback from each of these participants and have been working to implement the recommendations from this study.
We are now in the process of conducting an accessibility assessment. This involves reviewing a representative sample of pages from our new website against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.2 and best practices.
We know some parts of this website are not fully accessible:
- Some parts of a third-party booking system may be incompatible with some assistive technologies. We will be addressing this when the new version is released.

Southbank Centre is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.
Compliance status
The website is being tested against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standard.
We have just completed the development of our new website. We’re assessing its accessibility through an audit and will publish its compliance status by April 2024.
Preparation of this accessibility statementThis statement was prepared on 15 August 2024. It was last reviewed and updated on 22 December 2025.
Our website was audited in Aug 2025 against the WCAG 2.2 Level AAA standard. The audit was carried out by Accessible by Design, who manually assessed a sample of pages representing the key user journeys on the website.
Following this audit, our web developers have fixed the accessibility issues identified during the testing process to ensure the site meets the required standards.
Pages out-of-scope for manual assessment will be tested using the automated testing platform, Sortsite. The results from the automated testing will be checked for false positives and verified.
