A Birthday Garland

If you’ve ever wondered what it might be like to walk inside a single word, A Birthday Garland is for you.

Working with the etymology of words and drawing on the many languages contained in the library’s collection, Kuper creates dream-like images in which past and current meanings meet, pointing towards future possibilities.

As well as helping you to re-see language visually, there’s a chance to get involved with writing and making materials so you can create and take home a ‘word picture’ of your own.
