Brokentalkers & Adrienne Truscott: Masterclass
Speaking truth to power has never been so much fun: Masterclass is a hilarious performance putting gender and privilege under the spotlight.
Following an award-winning international tour, globally renowned Irish theatre company Brokentalkers and acclaimed New York-based artist Adrienne Truscott bring their subversive, savage wit to this long-awaited London premiere.
Masterclass parodies the ‘great male artist’ to within an inch of his life in order to uncover some difficult truths about power and patriarchy, with Truscott appearing as a laughably macho Hemingway-esque playwright giving a masterclass in condescension.
It’s fun; it’s familiar; there are wigs. But something more is at play.
Masterclass won The Scotsman’s Fringe First Award in 2022.
Masterclass is kindly supported by Culture Ireland, with additional funding from the Arts Council of Ireland. Masterclass is a co-production with Dublin Fringe Festival, Project Arts Centre and Mermaid Arts Centre.
