At a double bill into the night, immerse yourself in music by a composer positioned ‘at the forefront of the new music scene’, per the New Yorker.

Being presented as a complete body of work, Peter Gregson’s Quartets: One – Four have individually been heard around the world in ballets, films, fashion shows and ads, but never before in a single concert setting.

Here it is performed by the acclaimed Carducci Quartet, joined by Gregson on synthesisers.

Following this, join us for a surround-sound experience in the brutalist surroundings of the Queen Elizabeth Hall Foyer: the world premiere of Gregson’s critically acclaimed 2021 Deutsche Grammophon record, Patina, written and recorded for spatial audio.

Gregson, on solo cello, is joined by string ensemble and synthesisers in an immersive sound environment designed by Brett Cox.

Performers
  • Carducci String Quartet
