Creative Encounters: Collage in Motion
Inspired by dance and movement, this session with Beth Suzanna teaches the art of drawing with scissors, using colour and shapes to create a bold artwork.
Create an individual piece of collage art to take home and work together to create some large-scale paper murals, capturing dancing figures across the ballroom.
Suzanna’s work is bright and bold so get ready to embrace colour, find connection and bring paper to life. She’s joined by three enthusiastic dancers from Team Anubhava who share a performance of Bharatanatyam. The dancers become the muses for creativity, holding dynamic poses for the audience to be inspired by and create their paper portraits from.
Whether you’re coming along with a friend or looking for an opportunity to meet like-minded creatives, this session offers a unique combination of dance, music and art.
Beth Suzanna is a mixed-race, north London-based illustrator whose uplifting work is rooted in colour and connection. Creating artworks with a strong focus on community and diversity, she uses bold figurative paper-cut shapes to create tactile, playful and human work.
Anubhava is a team of six eclectic and enthusiastic dancers based in London, deeply rooted in our art and culture. They aim to bring community narratives to life through innovative choreography. Each brings a unique background and experience of dance, having trained in various dance styles, but predominantly connecting over their practise of Bharatanatyam.
Creative Encounters is your creative space in the heart of the city, bringing together Londoners old and new for live performance, making and conversation.
