Creative Encounters: Drawn Together
Create your own personalised emblem of what home means to you, celebrating the beauty and creativity of illustration, in a session led by artist Olivia Twist.
In the first part of this workshop, Twist introduces you to her distinctive style through live illustration and guided exercises, and helps you to develop your own look.
In the second part, Twist guides us to reflect on the ‘boring’ yet beautiful in everyday life to create an illustrated ceramic talisman to take home and hang on your wall.
This Creative Encounters session celebrates the mundane, everyday treasures that make our homes feel like home and make you feel like you.
No previous experience of illustration is required; come and have a go at drawing your world.
Olivia Twist is an illustrator and educator from east London with a socially engaged practice which centres community. She has a particular interest in participatory design, and her work can be found in the permanent collection of the Museum of London.
In her work, Twist uses strong, graphic illustration to capture the beautiful details of everyday London life, capturing the spirit of people or places with a pen.
Creative Encounters is your creative space in the heart of the city, bringing together Londoners old and new for live performance, making and conversation.
