Debut Sounds: Sound in Motion
Music and movement come together in new works for dance at the London Philharmonic Orchestra’s annual concert showcasing the LPO’s Young Composers.
George Balanchine famously said ‘Dance is music made visible’– we invite you to come and ‘see the music’ at this year’s Debut Sounds showcase.
Music and dance are intrinsically linked – but how do these art forms influence and inspire each other? And what happens when five exciting composers meet eight talented choreographers and are invited to create?
Join us at Debut Sounds, our annual showcase of new works by the London Philharmonic Orchestra’s Young Composers.
This year, the composers have created five thrilling new works for dance, with movement devised and performed by pairs of postgraduate choreographers from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, all under the mentorship of the award-winning LPO Composer in Residence, Tania León.
A further celebration of emerging talent, the music is performed by an ensemble of musicians from the LPO Foyle Future Firsts Development Programme, alongside LPO players under the baton of the LPO Fellow Conductors.
