Two Boys at a workshop sketching comics
Southbank Centre / Belinda Lawley

You and your kids get to write, perform and play in this climate change-themed workshop, where imagination saves the day.

The climate is changing. There are amazing scientists and artists working together to help us adapt and design a better future. We are the writers of our own stories and our imagination is the most powerful thing we have. Luckily, children have the best imaginations of all. Parents, take note.

Join the directors of international science and poetry project Hot Poets, Liv Torc and Chris Redmond, for a fun and inspiring 90-minute poetry, performance and music workshop exploring all of this and more.

The workshop consists of fun, short creative writing exercises, performance and play, all with amazing improvised music from Tongue Fu’s Arthur Lea.

Liv Torc is a spoken-word artist and experienced facilitator who champions climate change solutions. She has performed for the United Nations in Paris, Glasgow and Botswana, supported Roger McGough and Hollie McNish and runs international participation projects for thousands of poets.

Chris Redmond is a poet, musician, performer and educator. He’s featured on BBC Radio and CBBC and is Artistic Director of Tongue Fu, the international spoken word and music show.

With Liv Torc, Chris is working with the UNFCCC, partnering poets with climate scientists, to tell inspiring stories.

Arthur Lea is Tongue Fu’s regular keyboard wizard. Lewisham schooled, Royal Academy of Music trained, he has played everywhere from Ronnie Scott’s to the Olympic Stadium, working with Kae Tempest, Beardyman and Kylie Minogue. He performs solo and with his band Bootleg Brass.

Hot Poets is a UK-based but internationally focused arts project about communicating climate change science and action through spoken word poetry.

In collaboration with the UNFCCC, COP26/27, the Met Office, University College London, the RSPB and many other partners, Liv Torc and Chris Redmond are making poetry a catalyst for action and emotional courage in the fight to save our planet.
