Purcell Sessions

In a year-long collaborative programme, globally-respected, London-based independent record label Erased Tapes comes together with one of the UK's most innovative ensembles and winner of the RPS 'best ensemble' award, the London Contemporary Orchestra, to create experimental new works.

The collaboration brings handpicked Erased Tapes artists, including Qasim Naqvi, Michael Price and Hatis Noit, to Southbank Centre’s most intimate venue, Purcell Room, on dates throughout the year. Each of the Purcell Sessions: ET X LCO events includes a workshop where audiences can see composers and musicians working together to test and develop new methods, and a performance of the works created. The artists also play pieces from which they have taken inspiration for the session.
