futuretense: Canty + Flip Top Head

Tap into new, eclectic sounds ranging from gentle, evocative tracks to poetic punk in this edition of our free fortnightly gig series.

Part of futuretense

Canty has something unique. An East London multi-disciplinarian who blends the old with
the new, the sacred with the profane, the tender with the explicit, their output both as a songwriter and visual artist occupies its own lane. Moving and distinctive, Canty’s upcoming mixtape Dim Binge is their truest testimony yet, a work of scorched autobiography that feels utterly distinctive.

Flip Top Head sport two-tone swagger, punkish grit and a poetic post-rock melody. Since their debut single in February 2023, they have landed appearances at the Great Escape, Brighten The Corners, Mutations, Left of the Dial and sŵn festivals. The six-piece released their debut EP, Up Like A Weather Balloon, via Blitzcat Records in November 2024.
