futuretense: Cherrie B + twst

Dive into a heady blend of hyperpop and electronic music in an edition of our twice-monthly free music events featuring two singer-songwriters on the rise.

Part of futuretense

Cherrie B is a singer-songwriter exploring electronic music genres including hyperpop, trance, deconstructed club and more. Her live performances are an immersive auditory experience that involves live vocal effects and a soundscape that blends her tracks together.

Her popular releases include singles ‘IDKW’ and ‘Drama’, which she has performed at a number of shows and venues in the underground electronic scene in her hometown of London.

Born and raised in Barry, Wales, twst (she/they) grew up working at their father’s chicken factory. At 14, they left home and formal education and relocated to a recording studio in the South Wales Valleys where they taught themself music
production and began immersing themself in internet culture.

Now based in London, twst writes and produces their own music, and directs their music videos, employing the help and guidance of revered writers, producers and creatives in their community, often befriended through the internet and discord communities.

They create carefully crafted subversive music, focused around post-internet subjects such as online relationships, surveillance and female empowerment.
