futuretense: Izzy Withers + Kemi Ade
Step into soulful music at this edition of our free twice-monthly gig series, featuring two rising stars in the UK music scene, Izzy Withers and Kemi Ade.
Izzy Withers is an 18-year-old singer-songwriter from a tiny village in East Sussex. Starting out in music at the age of 7, at 16 she moved out to London to attend ELAM college to pursue her music career. In London, she has created a buzz through showcases, busking and recording original music.
Her unique blend of neo/contemporary soul with a pop influence draws comparisons to artists like Corinne Bailey Rae,Olivia Dean and Lily Allen, and spoken word is a feature of her music.
Kemi Ade, a rising star in the UK’s alternative R&B scene, crafts music that blends pop, R&B, jazz, indie and neo-soul. Influenced by Nigerian and British heritage, her work is both topical and soulful and has gained recognition from major music publications and platforms, including BBC Radio 1 and COLORS.
