futuretense: JayaHadADream + Jay Malakhi

Roll with the rhymes from two up-and-coming rap artists in an evening of lyrical storytelling at this edition of our free twice-monthly gigs.

Part of futuretense

Jamaican-Irish rapper JayaHadADream has an introspective and gritty style, heavily influenced by grime and a range of hip-hop. Raised in Cambridge, and formerly a teacher, she brings authenticity and vulnerability to her lyrics, exploring themes of resilience and self-discovery. Her distinctive sound combines raw storytelling with emotive performances, accompanied by visuals.

Hailing from Kent, JAY MALAKHI is on his way to redefining UK rap with his dynamic raps and meticulously crafted flow. Quoting the likes of Kanye West, Isaiah Rashad, Kojey Radical and Knucks as inspirations, MALAKHI’s rap blends the jaunty, bouncy flow of UK rap with US hip-hop inspired instrumentals, brimming with soulful samples and pulsating baselines.
