futuretense: Pelin Pelin + Ben Vince
Raw emotion and expression is of the essence in this free concert from rising stars on the music scene.
Pelin Pelin is a British-Kurdish producer, pianist and songwriter who pairs her instincts as a pianist with the bite of London’s post-club undercurrent. Her sounds unfold with poise and a distinctly sensual edge, where twinkling rhythmic details playfully cut against the blunt realities of living and longing in the city.
Whether it’s the hazy abstractions of her beats or the subjects of her songwriting, when Pelin Pelin loves something she loves it deeply. This artist’s weapon of choice is purity of intent.
Ben Vince is a composer and performer from Nottingham, known for his live improvised saxophone explorations and inventive techniques in creating new rhythms, textures and moods.
Through improvisation, sonic manipulation, looping and reprocessing, his spontaneous yet intuitive approach and collaborative nature surpasses the seeming limitations of his primary instrument.
