Mozart Requiem

Sun 10 Jan 2027, 3pm

Mozart’s choral masterpiece crowns a sublime concert of his greatest works, including his timeless Piano Concerto No.21.

The Requiem was unfinished at the time of Mozart’s death, and its origins are shrouded in mystery.

When Mozart received an anonymous commission for a Requiem Mass in 1791, it sent the composer into a dark state of mind: he was said to believe that he was composing the work for his own funeral.

However it came into being, the Requiem is today recognised as one of Mozart’s most moving and awe-inspiring works.

Alongside this masterpiece, enjoy some of the composer’s most-loved works, performed back-to-back in a powerful programme.
