Neoprene Genie: Dream Jump

Thu 30 Jul 2026, 7.45pm

Embark on an eddying, wild ride of speech, music, poetry and visuals untangling how to reach for our desired lives in a world where dreaming feels impossible.

Neoprene Genie presents Dream Jump, a vignette, anthology-style production written and directed by award-winning author and interdisciplinary artist Tice Cin.

Like any dream, the evening sweeps you up in its enchanting flow, threading together captivating monologues from talented actors, dream-like musical interludes, searching poetry, cinematic intervals, transcendent musical scores and visual artworks.

Providing the sonic underpinning is scoring from the Neoprene Genie team, alongside guest compositions from the likes of Nammy Wams and Tokyo-based artist Yuri. Entering the vortex are visuals from award-winning visual artists Misbah Anjum-James and Kareem Parkins-Brown, a short film by JACKSON kaki and structural art by artist Clemens Grömmer.

Performances include poetry and songs of retrieval from multidisciplinary artist Latekid, a negotiation with shadows from rapper M.I.C, lullabies and tavern songs from musician Tahini Molasses, nightmare-like interludes from poet Mandisa Apena, ancestral memories with singer YAZ, dance poetry on the dreaming body from Chantel Foo, and monologues – written by Tice Cin and scored by KMNC – performed by poet and actor Gabriel Àkámọ́ and cross-disciplinary artists Dayax Raage and Riwa Saab.

Think of a dream where a bird lands on a snowy branch and unsettles the cold onto your face below; you wake and your cheek feels refreshed. This is the feeling captured in Dream Jump – a one-of-a-kind experience that untangles what it means to have dreams and desires for our lives in a moment, and in a world, where dreaming of the future seems so hard.
