Philharmonia debates... Music & Identity

How much of a person’s outlook and position in the world makes its way into the music they write? Come along to hear thoughts from those with an insight.

Music is part of what makes us human. Does this mean that who we are, and how society perceives us, inevitably becomes part of our music?

Ahead of this evening’s concert – Gilbert & George: Sex, Money, Race, Religion – join speakers from the music world and beyond for the opening debate, as they unpack the theme of the Philharmonia’s season.

Throughout the Philharmonia’s 80th birthday year, the orchestra explores some big questions around music and identity – come and have your say.
