Ralph McTell’s 80th Birthday Concert

Folk music legend Ralph McTell celebrates his 80th birthday with a solo show, armed with his guitar, 60 years of songs and a lifetime of spellbinding stories.

McTell’s six-decade career has seen him become a favourite artist of the folk scene, celebrated for timeless classics including the ever-relevant ‘Streets of London’.

His music combines melodies and words with a quintessentially British and Irish focus, played in a style inspired by his love of the great Delta blues players of the American South.

A natural storyteller, McTell also reflects on his life stories, from hitch hiking with Rod (then known as the Mod) Stewart; playing The Isle of Wight Festival alongside Jimi Hendrix and Sly Stone; and the history of his songs which have led to a shelf-full of awards.

This concert is a treasure trove of more than sixty years of writing, sharing the reflections and observations of a master craftsman’s life’s work.
