Rays of Light
Leap into a colourful new musical based on the life and art of the famous Ray family, including the author of the beloved, nonsensical Abol Tabol.
Following three generations of the Ray family, this musical tells the story of the uncontainably creative family who dazzled 20th-century India and the world.
Upendrakishore Ray Chowdhury, Sukumar Ray, and Satyajit Ray were some of Bengal’s greatest figures in children’s literature and publishing, creating children’s chronicles, nonsense rhymes, detective stories, surreal music and some of the most wonderful films to come out of the sub-continent.
Featuring tigers, whimsical rhymes and artistic works created by the trio, the exploits of this pioneering family are brought to life through music, dance, play and the visual arts in a dazzling performance for young and old.
