Taster Sessions with Grounded Ecotherapy
If you’re local to Lambeth or Southwark and seeking a supportive recovery programme, discover the benefits of ecotherapy here in our flourishing roof garden.
Grounded Ecotherapy is an award-winning team of passionate conservationists as well as a pioneering recovery programme.
They take care of our Queen Elizabeth Hall Roof Garden, which is home to over 250 species of plants, fruit trees and wildflowers.
Lambeth or Southwark locals who are looking for a supportive recovery programme are invited to join us for a taster session to see the benefits of ecotherapy for yourself.
Volunteers learn basic horticulture and landscaping in order to maintain the garden, such as cultivating plants, building planters and making compost.
Volunteering for Grounded Ecotherapy is a fulfilling way to connect with the environment, join a new community and gain knowledge about parts of nature that you may have never noticed before.
Here is what we consider when selecting volunteers:
People who may have experienced problems with substance addiction, poor mental health and/or homelessness.
Volunteers must be in recovery and can abstain during these sessions.
Priority is given to residents in our local Lambeth and Southwark community.
Volunteers must be aged 18 or over.
The hard work of our volunteers and gardeners makes the Queen Elizabeth Hall Roof Garden grow and flourish, so be prepared to get your hands dirty and get stuck into the garden. No prior gardening experience is necessary.
Grounded Ecotherapy is a partnership project supported by Providence Row Housing Association
