Terminal 1 & Bonita Worldwide: Dub vs Cumbia

Migration made the music – now the dance floor answers in a music takeover celebrating the radical joy of migration, guest-curated by Terminal 1 and Bonita Worldwide.

Launched at Glastonbury in 2024, Terminal 1 is a cultural platform that explores, celebrates and examines migration through art, sound, movement and performance.

Rooted in the belief that ‘no human is illegal’, it brings together artists and communities whose lives and work are shaped by borders, displacement and diaspora. From the Windrush generation and the legacy of sound system culture, to the pulse of cumbia across Latin America, this night celebrates the global rhythms that carry us forward.

As part of this special one-off night, embark on a musical and immersive journey through diasporic sound, featuring live music, DJ sets, drum circles, visuals and a borderless sound clash between two deeply rooted movements: dub and cumbia.

Opening to unite the dance floor under one rhythm is a Nyabinghi drum circle featuring Watusi, Asheber and Mo Kolors, followed by a Bullerengue circle led by Esteban Card and Valeria Pacific of Akola Tambo.

From there, the dance floor erupts in a sonic exchange as the live dub rhythm section and Green Tea Peng ‘Seng Seng’ rhythm section SLICKnBOBBY joins forces with the Bonita House Band, blending deep bass, salsa, Latin jazz, cumbia, folklore and psychedelia.

Selectors Bushbby and Snuff send pulsating rhythms straight from the decks to your chest, with sounds spanning continents and histories.
