Val Lee: The Presence of Solitude
A multidisciplinary exhibition from Taiwanese artist Val Lee (李奧森), continuing her exploration of isolation, intimacy and hope.
The exhibition featured new iterations of two existing works: Valley in the Minibus (2024) and The Sorrowful Football Team (2025), which explore the concept of transitory ‘non-spaces’ and political repression in Taiwan during the White Terror respectively.
Val Lee’s work has been shown internationally. In 2008, Lee founded the Taipei-based art collective Ghost Mountain Ghost Shovel and in 2017 she was awarded the Taishin Arts Award for Visual Arts. This is her first solo exhibition in the UK.
