Uncover the contemporary poetry of two of the world’s richest poetic cultures through two of their leading poets at an intimate reading and discussion.
Celebrate the publication of Yang Lian and Sudeep Sen’s jointly-edited book Himalayas: Contemporary Indian and Chinese Poetry. The book takes six poets each from India and China and six poems from each poet, presenting them through richly-wrought translations.
Live readings from Yang Lian and Sudeep Sen introduce you to the stunning poetic voices in the book. And a Q&A session dives into a captivating discussion on the thriving nature of poetry in their respective countries and the role the artform plays in an age of increasing globalisation.

On Level 2 of our Royal Festival Hall you can grab a slice of life by the Thames with drinks and freshly made pizza at our Festival Bar & Kitchen which opens out onto our Riverside Terrace. You can grab a coffee and a slice of freshly made cake from our Ballroom Cafe. Or alternatively enjoy destination dining in the restaurant at Skylon.
