Esa-Pekka Salonen as been Principal Conductor and Artistic Advisor for the Philharmonia Orchestra, one of Southbank Centre’s four resident orchestras, since November 2006. In this short video the Finnish conductor introduces the orchestra’s 2018/19 season by asking what is an orchestra for, in our world as it is today?
