A Music Made of Visual Thoughts: Sonic Poetry Workshop

This online workshop led by poet Anna Saunders explores sonic effects in poetry.

Through writing tasks and close reading of other poets’ work, this workshop will focus on rhythm, assonance, alliteration, colloquial expressions and the power of silence, discovering ways of listening and attuning your ear to the sound of a poem. Poets whose work will be looked at include Dylan Thomas, Gerard Manley Hopkins, Kaveh Akbar and Liz Berry.
