Echoes Follow Footsteps: Poetry and Place in Deptford (Being Human Festival)

Being Human Festival is hosting a day-long guided walking tour and poetry workshop exploring Deptford and its people, geography, and history through walking, writing, and performance.

Starting at the Cutty Sark, a point of departure for sea-going adventures, cross the Ravensbourne where it meets the Thames. The walk continues into Deptford, passing Glaisher Street, Watergate Street, Sayes Court Park and Deptford Church Street.

At the Albany, participants will be encouraged to reflect on their observations, shaping them into written words through a poetry workshop and open mic event hosted by Everything Poetry. This event encourages poets to think about how place, language and poetry intersect, supported by expert facilitation in a welcoming and inclusive space.
