Pipistrelles & Poems: Bat Walk and Poetry Performance
Tue 2 Sep | 7:30pm
Venue: Regent's Park
Address: (Meeting outside the Espresso Bar), The Broad Walk, Regent's Park, London, NW1 4NU
How might a poet be inspired by the rhythms and echoes of bats? Join eco-poet Dr Briony Hughes in Regent’s Park for a unique evening that pairs natural science with poetic exploration.
Using handheld detectors, participants will tune in to the unique, high-frequency calls of bats. Along the way, eco-poet Dr Briony Hughes (Royal Holloway, University of London) will present an immersive performance from her latest poetry collection, Speculative Frequencies – a book inspired by her own nocturnal encounters with bats in the Surrey Hills.
Suitable for adult attendees, over 18 years of age.
