Poetry for St David’s Day Eve with Jonathan Edwards

As part of St David’s Day weekend at Chester Cathedral, special guest Welsh poet Jonathan Edwards is invited to the Poetry Reading. Jonathan’s 2014 collection My Family and Other Superheroes won the Costa Poetry Award. It also received the Wales Book of the Year People’s Choice Award – as did his 2018 collection Gen. Jonathan is a Literature Wales mentor of emerging writers and a Royal Literary Fund Advisory Fellow.
Jonathan will help reflect on Cynefin – the Welsh word that encompasses a sense of rootedness. His own roots are in South Wales. Jonathan will be supported by those based closer to home – local poets who have been exploring the concept of Cynefin in a Cathedral poetry workshop.
