Practising Poetic Metre

A small informal drop-in session to practice poetic metre. Choice of metre and variations will be discussed, with example poems sent out in advance for attendees to read. Ideally, participants will have some grounding in metre, but it is not a requirement as the session will include scanning through examples as a group.

The session will cover accentual syllabic metre e.g. iambic pentameter only which is the most common metre used in English language poetry.
