The Pillow Book: A Deep Dive

Join Alex Corrin-Tachibana for a session exploring Sei Shōnagon’s The Pillow Book(枕草子, Makura no Sōshi).

This session will dive into the literary classic, exploring it’s structure, origins and influence around the world,  why it might have contemporary appeal, and how it represents the birth of the zuihitsu Japanese form.

The workshop will balance discussion and writing time, include a workbook, prompts and a follow-up video of the session.
