Thoughtcast Collective Presents: Artist v Moth

An event in which poems interact with sound and art, choreographed comedy sketches, Sufi-inspired DJ sets and surreal films – all inspired by the ancient symbol of the moth.

There will be performances by poets Zia Ahmed and Katie O’Pray, DJs Aquamarine and Kiah Grant, playwright Omar Bynon, actor Luanda Yasmin, photographer Shauna McCallion, illustrator Sophie Ibbotson, filmmakers Anju Kasturiraj and Bree Bracey, and musicians Elina Shakaut & Hassan Mallick (Nirvana Principle).

Thoughtcast Collective is a majority-neuroqueer community of independent artists working across film, poetry, music and visual art. As artists, they feel a kinship with the moth’s fragile but risk-taking existence. What does it mean to seek the light? And how does one avoid getting caught in the flame?
