Writing Science
Wed 15 Jan - Wed 2 April 2025
Venue: Online
Address: Online
Writing Science is a 12 week course exploring how poetry has engaged with scientific ideas from the ancient world to the contemporary.
The course can be accessed anywhere in the world, as each week you will receive a tutorial via email with writing prompts and exercises to inspire work, alongside an online chat group for discussion, with written feedback from the Live Canon team.
The first nine weeks of the course will look at a different area of science each week: mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, sci-fi, medicine, astronomy, geography, and botany. In the final three weeks the focus will be on broader themes of language, imagery, intuition and imagination.
Live Canon courses are taught by its director, Dr Helen Eastman.
